The best episode of Law & Order is the one where the detectives interrogate that group of surly, blue-collar construction guys about a murder, which annoys the construction guys because it is lunchtime and all they want to do is sit on a steel beam and eat hot sandwiches wrapped in foil while wearing hard hats.

That one’s not as good as the one where they’re interviewing the dockworker and he doesn’t even bother to stop unloading the truck for 30 seconds while being interviewed by the cops about a grizzly murder involving several people he knows.  ”What, my neighbor from down the hall whom last week I had a heated argument with about how he kept stealing my newspaper was cut up into several pieces, wrapped in newspaper and stuffed in the freezer at my cousin’s bakery? I’d love to help you, but this truckload of chainsaw parts isn’t going to unload itself.”
